Fern has gone GREEN!
Weekly packets will be available electronically, starting in March. If you've already opted to receive your weekly packet electronically, via the flyer that was sent home at the beginning of the school year, THANK YOU! You should receive your first packet on Tuesday, March 2. If you don't receive an e-mial from "Fern Falcons" on that day, please e-mail us at fernfalcons@gmail.com.
If you haven't signed up to receive your weekly packet via e-mail, please click here. It only takes one minute of your time, but saves countless volunteer hours (and trees).
We appreciate your patience as we work out the wrinkles of this new process!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Honorary Service Award Winners
Fern PTA honored several people who have gone above and beyond through their volunteer work here at Fern and in the community at a dinner on February 11th. We would like to congratulate the following volunteers for their contribution to Fern:
Very Special Person Awards: Gail Keswater, Krystal Alcala, Mack Basham, and Patty Hankawa
Honorary Service Awards: Alma Howell, Danielle Roth, Guy Poulin, and Jyoti Trueman
Continuing Service Award: Darlene Crider

Thank you to each of these people for all they have done to make Fern and the community around us a better place. Thank you also to those who took the time to write the nomination letters. If it weren’t for you, these people would not be getting honored. And, thank you to Carol Alvarado and Patricia Hoxie for helping to plan this wonderful awards dinner.

Census 2010
This year the Federal government will be conducting the census. The census is very important for our communities to get its fair share of federal dollars (specifically $400 billion) for vital programs like education, healthcare, emergency services, etc. The census also determines how many congressional seats California will get.
This year the U.S. Census has kept it very simple – “10 questions, 10 minutes”
Census questionnaires will be mailed home the first week in March and need to be returned by April 1.
The Census website is www.2010.census.gov.
