Dear Fern Family,
The 2012-13 school year promises to be especially exciting with our new campus. PTA will strive to take advantage of this wonderful environment, so our programs have the maximum impact on our children’s education. With our new campus complete, it will be important to stay on top of communications so families know what’s going on at Fern. Our PTA theme for this year is "Get Connected, Stay Connected." Let’s support our Fern students by being proactive about communication this year.
Last school year; Fern PTA provided loads of programs for our students. We hope to continue and improve on all these programs, but as PTA President last year, I noticed that one problem we still struggle with is communication. Fern has embraced technology, and there is so much information available to our Fern Family on our website or through our Weekly Communicator. I heavily encourage all parents/guardians, teachers, and even grandparents or anyone with interests at Fern to sign up for the Weekly Communicator. Don’t just gloss over this valuable e-mail. Take a peak and find out what’s going on at Fern. By checking your Weekly Communicator, you’ll find out details like when students are getting out early for parent conferences, which day your child should wear silly socks, when forms are due for activities, or when PTA is looking for volunteers.
As we head into the new school year, please take time and be involved in your child’s education; certainly at home, and also thru PTA if you can volunteer some of your time. Sign up for the Weekly Communicator, and make sure to check it out. By keeping up with our communications, you will be helping your child(ren) get the most out of their fantastic Fern education.
